After finishing a venue tour with my client in the suburbs of Chicago, I decided to stop for dinner at Pella Signature. They seated us in the back room, a beautiful, tented space that instantly caught my eye. It had this serene, greenhouse-like atmosphere that made you feel as if you were surrounded by nature, even while inside. I remember thinking, this space feels different and I couldn’t stop imagining what it could look like transformed for an event.
The next day, I was chatting with my friend and vendor, Maria, and I mentioned how inspiring the space was. Not even 24 hours later, she called me back saying her friend actually knew the owner. That’s how everything began. I connected with Maya, the owner of Pella Signature, and we started dreaming up a styled shoot that would help introduce their restaurant as a potential wedding venue.
From the very beginning, my vision was to create something that felt like you were bringing the outdoors in. A seamless blend between nature and structure, where you couldn’t quite tell the difference between inside and out. Once the concept was clear, I started curating the perfect vendor team and began designing every detail. From the floral installations and custom backdrops to the tablescapes, fabrics, and textures, I wanted to ensure each element felt organic, intentional, and connected to the space itself.
